This deep into the land indented anchorage is one of my favorites on Adriatic sea. Sailing towards it we first meet channel sv. Ante, Šibenik bay, Prukljanski isthmus, lake Prukljanski and finally canyon of river Krka. Skradin alone, it's main castle and in the 13th century made port of Croatian navy, has a rich history and typical looks dives into the river shahs in which we can hear the sound of crickets and frogs. In the end, it's the most accessible way to National park Krka with it's famous waterfalls that you simply can't pass through. This means that it pays off to stay in Skradin at least two days. In Skradin there is a well guided marine but we will focus on anchoring. You can do it everywhere because muddy bottom holds the anchor really well.
Most often this can be done in light turn of river Krka south western from marine or east of her in front of little coves Stara Vozarica and Sridnja draga where you can anchor on depths of 4 or 5 meters. We will be well protected even if Bura is blowing really hard and if south wind disturbs the water. You should be careful on the river current especially after the strong rain when the river accelerates its current. You can count that you will be in company of big yachts which cant anchor on riva in Skradin. The biggest ones (100 meters and more) anchor themselves in lake Prukljan. While on anchor we can have many activities. The first one is swimming in crystal clear green water. Then sightseeing around Skradin to which we must go by rubber boat. The town is alive in the summer, full of sailors and hikers.
If you are looking for a restaurant there are a few in town. Very good fish from lake Prukljan, Skradin risotto and clamps. The day 2 is all about visiting the national park. If you you want to see it full, you should get up early and catch a boat that will get you to Skandinski buk. Then you can decide to go to Roški waterfall, Visovec and all the way to monastery Krka. Unique waterfalls, swimming underneath and walks through the forest. An experience that you will not forget.
