The newest superyacht idea from Alpha Marine was created to be enjoyed for centuries to come.

The gigantic 318-foot expedition boat, appropriately named Future, was designed by the Greek yacht design and naval architecture business to appeal to a new generation of adventurous sailors by meeting their desire to tour the world without sacrificing the comforts of home.

Future, according to Alpha Marine's Aristotelis Betsis, "marks the start of a new era at Alpha Marine as she interprets eco-friendly technology, cutting-edge naval architecture, and has a dynamic and contemporary style."

The hybrid propulsion system on board the go-anywhere vessel includes an electric motor, four diesel generators, two azimuth thrusters, and the necessary battery packs. This not only reduces emissions but also gives passengers more liberty and freedom. Future's top speed, according to Alpha Marine, will be 18 knots at full throttle.

The explorer, billed as a "home away from home," was built for comfort as well as speed. She can accommodate up to 24 guests and 40 crew members on five decks. The owner's suite has a salon to the aft and a terrace to the fore on its own private deck.

There's plenty of space for entertaining both inside and out, as well as a slew of conveniences. Future has an amazing infinity pool aft of the main deck that falls down to the beach club and swim platform below. A set of hydraulic balconies can be lowered here for immediate water access. Other features include a pair of large tables for alfresco dining on the upper deck, as well as a Jacuzzi with panoramic views on the sundeck.

Future also has a full complement of water toys, as well as a helideck in the bow for easy arrivals and departures or additional exploration in isolated areas.

"A true expedition yacht," Betsis continues, "she can travel to Antarctica but still be anchored in Mykonos and still stand out."
